My name is Anthony, probably better known by my moniker 'carmoda'. I’m a business advisor, open-source technology nerd and retired horse farmer. In between the occasional advisory work and farm activities I build smart farm gadgets. I've been working with open-source software from the very beginning. I keep my technical skills sharp running my own web services. I’ve automated our farm using a number of different open source hardware and software platforms, some of which required me to learn completely new technologies.
You'll notice I cover a wide range of topics here. I have roughly grouped my posting into three sections. The Technology section will feature exactly that. The Environment section will feature my ramblings on the the direction of the environmental movement. Perspectives will be where I house more political and opinionated material.
I am dismayed at how social movements have seized the terms 'science' and 'facts' to validate their own narratives. I consider myself left-leaning, however the traditional left aligned political parties are locked in an existential battle to appeal to more extreme ideology, some of these people are ashamed to be people. Once upon a time environmentalists cared about habitat and clean water, socialists about the working class. I fear we have replaced organised religion with something equally sinister.
This site represents nothing more than my personal views. Although I have written academic, commercial and educational papers, these posts are none of those things.
